Nikos Koumoutzis is an Associate Professor at the University of Nicosia, where he teaches Greek Civil Law, holds a Master's degree (DEA) from the University of Bordeaux I, specializing in Private Law, and a PhD from the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (for his thesis on: "Parental care of a child born out of wedlock and the father's right to family life" - Athens Academy Award 2011). His main research interests include, inter alia, human rights and family law, in particular the law of medical assistance in human reproduction. He is a lawyer, a member of the Athens Bar Association, the Association of Greek Civil Lawyers, the Medical Law and Bioethics Group, the Family Law Society, and a contributor to the journal "Chronicles of Private Law".
