BioMedLex has developed an innovative distance learning program in English. The program consists of 24 courses with lectures in podcast format, covering a wide range of legal and ethical issues in modern medicine and biomedicine. The content is divided into 4 cycles:

CYCLE I: PATIENT AUTONOMY
1. The patient/physician relationship, 2. End-of-life Issues, 3. Medical Malpractice, 4. Dementia and Autonomy, 5. Triage and the Right to Health, 6. Vaccinations

CYCLE II: HUMAN REPRODUCTION
1. Abortion, 2. Assisted Reproduction, 3. PGD and Embryo Selection, 4. Stem Cells and Cloning, 5. Contraception and Sterilisation, 6. Hybrids and Chimeras

CYCLE III: BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH
1. Clinical Research, 2. Biobanking, 3. Genetic Interventions in Humans, 4. Precision Medicine and Big Data, 5. Commercialisation of the Human Body, 6. Pre-clinical Research/Laboratory Animals

CYCLE IV: INNOVATIVE APPLICATIONS
1. Genetic Testing and Data Protection, 2. Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, 3. Transplantation, 4. Brain Health and Neurolaw, 5. Autonomy and Doping, 6. Patents in Biomedicine

Students are also free to choose from all courses in the program to create personalized study cycles (minimum of 6 courses/cycle).

Additional educational material is provided for each course and, upon completion of the program, there is the possibility of multiple-choice tests for the award of a certificate from BioMedLex.

Fees: 30 euros per cycle, 100 euros for the whole program
